Erecting a pull up marquee

Previous | Home | Back to the begining

Maintaining marquees.

From time to time the marquee should be checked to see that every thing is OK.

The first things to check are that::-

All the guy ropes are still in place

The guy ropes must have no frayed sections.

The guy ropes are under enough tension.

When tensioning a marquee care must be taken to ensure that all sides of the marquee are tensioned off evenly to avoid the marquee being pulled to one side.

If the marquee is left without being tightened there is a risk of water gathering in pools in the baggy roof. In extreme cases this could lead to the collapse of a marquee.

When high winds are expected or there are signs of pegs starting to pull out, it is advisable to increase the number of pegs and guy ropes. Special attention should be given to corners and the seams between two roof sections.

Doorways should be closed overnight.
