Marquee Chandelier Lighting

Chandeliers are probably the quickest way to light a lined marquee. 85% of chandeliers used in marquees are 5arm brass. Although I've seen companies use home made wrought iron or wood before now.

The Chandelier is generally hung on a chain (provided with the light) at the top of the chandelier there is a brass boss. I advocate tying a piece of string to the boss then putting the string trough the lining and tying it to the ridge pole.

The number of chandeliers depends on the size of the marquee and the amount of light required.

Generally people think that they need more chandeliers than they need. I would recommend two 5 arm chandeliers in a 40'x 60' marquee. During an evening function they would require to be dimmed right down.

Larger Chandeliers are used for effect rather than more light. Bulbs are not supplied with the chandelier! The chandeliers have a standard bayonet fitting.

The Chandeliers come without wires or plugs. There are two schools of thought about wiring many chandeliers in a marquee. Some people chain the lights together with one wire coming down from the centre of the marquee. However I favour one wire per chandelier coming down from the ridge to the side of the marquee.

If you would like a plug on the end of a short piece of wire (6" or 15cm) add £5 to the price of the chandelier or if you would like a 40' or 12m extension (I use this on marquee 30ft -50ft wide) It will cost you an extra £12 + the price of the plug.
